ABOVE  is the McGill Place Sustainable Sites zone map. The areas we were investigating 09/22/2023 are in blue. The purpose of this walk was to find ways to conserve $$$ by lowering our bi-annual flower square footage.

ANNUAL SAVINGS:  of $4,066.00 from flower bed rotations by use of Perennial Plants*
*Perennials keep living all year round VS Annuals which require seasonal replacement.

7- We are trying to figure out the LEAST Landscape invasive way to fix a sewer pipe from Building 4 that has a potential blockage. HERE B8 Sewer Pipe are diagrams.

ABOVE  is the McGill Place Sustainable Sites zone map. The areas we were investigating for improvement 08/18/2023 are in blue.
1) The first area is to the west of Building 9. This area has been severely eroded by years of rain leaders pouring water into an area with no plants to imped the water. There are a series of solutions:
a) Put soil in the area with plants and their roots to withstand and imped the water. This is a win-win-win for happy plants and utilizing on-site water resources. Instead of sending the water to the already overloaded COA (City of Atlanta) combined sewer/stormwater system, we utilize this rain water to enrich our landscape.
b) If still too much water the rain leaders can be redirected.
This is on the list for when there is some EXTRA $$ available in the future.
2) We then visited 2 retention wall areas on the east side that  are going to be reshaped for better drainage during rain storms.
